ACTIVITIES

(Please see current Newsletter for Chairperson’s Names & Telephone numbers)

Book Club - meets at member’s homes on the 1st Wednesday of the month.
Bridge - the original group is now closed to new members. We are looking for a new Chairperson willing to form another group.  Please contact a Board member, if interested.
Bunco - a fun dice game for couples (not necessarily married couples...just requires a certain even number).  Meets 2d Sunday of each month at 5:00 P.M. at member’s homes(potluck supper included).
Community Service - the Chairperson chooses a different community service project each month.  Members may participate by donating service or items voluntarily.
Euchre - meets the 2nd Saturday night each month at members’ homes.  Hostess provides light refreshments.
Galavanters - occasional outings to places of interest around the Charlotte region.  No Chairperson.  All members welcome to invite other members (via Newsletter) to a proposed event or location.  YOU come up with the event/trip and place you want to explore (participants on their own for cost) and put it in the Newsletter as an invitation to form a party.
Mah Jongg - (American).  Meets 1st Friday of the month in member’s homes.  This rummy-like game is played with tiles.  New members always welcome.
Out to Lunch Bunch - Members go OUT to lunch, usually the 2nd Thursday of the month, to try new restaurants in our area. Chairperson(s) choose the restaurant & make the arrangements.  Suggestions always welcome.
Socializers - Every OTHER month, usually on a Friday night, from 7-9 (+) P.M.  A social gathering, spouses and friends invited to join.  Host & hostess of the month  provide setups and ice.  All participants bring drink of choice and an appetizer or dessert to share.
Stitchers - Meets monthly at member’s homes, usually on a Thursday.  A social gathering for those who enjoy handwork, ranging from quilting to needlepoint, knitting to sewing on buttons, and everything in between!
Supper Club - We are currently looking for a Chairperson to restart.  In past years, it was every other month, alternating with Socializers, and has taken two formats: Dining out at restaurants or small sit-down dinners in the homes of volunteer member hosts with participating members bringing an assigned dish.  As with Socializers, different people can participate different months. Not a long-term commitment.   If interested in organizing this activity again, please contact a Board member.

*****Additional (and appropriate) groups are always welcome.  Please contact any board member on how to start up your group.*****
