The NEW SOUTHERN WOMEN’s CLUB (NSW) was started as a social organization in 1998.  We are not a structured organization with regular business meetings and have chosen not to have by-laws. We have, however, established the following guidelines to help organize our activities and to define our purpose.

Mission Statement
NSW provides activities and social network opportunities for newcomers and not-so-new-comers in the Fort Mill and surrounding areas.  It is the Club’s goal to support one another, to provide opportunities for women to meet and make friends through various activities, and ...to be an asset to our Community.
Guidelines
1. The Club is primarily social with voluntary monthly service projects.
2. Expenses incurred by the Board on projects and meetings will be reimbursed.
3. The Club can, if desired, have a charity fundraising event.
4. The Board will consist of Officers and certain Activity Chairpersons (a Chairperson can
request not to sit on the Board, and a vote will so be taken).
5. Board members should not serve more than 2 years in a particular position, but  a vote
may be taken to allow it, if the incumbent is willing and no other member volunteers.
6. There is a 4-yr. term limit on the Board; after a two-year hiatus, however, a member
may be eligible to sit on the Board once again.
7. The position of Director has been added to the Board, to be filled by the past year’s
President, and to function as an Advisor.
8. Dues are $20. per year ($25 if newsletter has to be mailed), if joining through June 30th.  As of          July 1 each year, the charge will be  $12.50 for the remainder of the year.
9. The monthly NEWSLETTER should contain information about NSW activities and its
members (welfare) only.   No for-profit enterprise may advertise therein.
10. There is a $10 limit for gifts given to members for special events.
11. Flowers are sent to Club members in the event of a death of an immediate family member
(defined as father, mother, sister, brother, husband, or child) and within a $20 limit.
12. A charitable donation of at least $50 will be given at the end of each Calendar year to a local
charity or charities.  The Board will vote on the recipient(s) and the amount(s).
